With a fleet of concrete trucks to hand, we’re able to efficiently deliver anywhere between one to 10 cubic metres of wet concrete and screed, depending on your requirements. But, what types of concrete do we offer?

Take a look below as we discuss just some of the specialised concrete solutions we can supply.

Our Concrete Solutions

Self-Compacting Concrete

Self-compacting concrete (SCC), as its name implies, is a type of concrete that doesn’t require vibration or external compacting. This is because it contains higher proportions of fine aggregates and water-reducing agents than regular concrete, thus improving its flow rate and allowing it to form to shapes and compact under its own weight.

SCC is commonly used for:

  • Raft and pile foundations
  • Retrofitting and repairing constructions
  • Bespoke architecture
  • Projects with budget restrictions

Foamed Concrete

Also known as lightweight cellular concrete or low density cellular concrete, foamed concrete is defined as being a cement-based slurry that contains over 20% air by volume. Its main components include cement, water and foam, although sand may also be added to the mix to further improve its strength.

Ultimately, this mix of materials allows foamed concrete to be lightweight, low density product that remains strong.

It’s ideal for projects where lots of concrete is required, with some of its applications including:

  • Roof insulation
  • Void filling
  • Bridge abutments
  • Trench reinstatement

High Early Strength Concrete

High early strength concrete (HESC) is what’s considered a type of high performance concrete. HESC, in particular, can gain structural strength within 24 hours of being poured. This is unlike regular concrete, which only achieves 70% of its full strength after a week and takes up to 25-28 days to achieve full structural strength.

This makes HESC highly desirable for time-conscious projects and those where the use of set concrete is required much sooner.

Some of its uses include:

  • Road repairs
  • Construction projects with tight deadlines
  • Water control structures
  • Precast facilities

Porous Concrete

Again, this type of concrete is rather self-explanatory. Also known as permeable concrete, porous concrete is a type of concrete that allows water to easily pass through it. This is achieved through the use of coarse aggregates, portland cement and water, whilst withholding smaller particles (such as sand) that would otherwise fill in the gaps.

It’s these gaps that allow water to easily pass through. To be considered porous, a half millimetre of water must be able to completely penetrate it within a minute.

Its applications can include:

  • Pavements
  • Swimming pool decks
  • Car parks
  • Patios
